COMING EVENTS :: Singles Night At Heroes!

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22!
7:00 PM
Attention, singles! Apparently our recent spate of events and parties has gone to our heads, because we're now announcing our first ever Singles Night at Heroes Aren't Hard To Find! Co-sponsored by Sweet On Geeks and Geek Monthly magazine, this will be a relaxed meet-and-greet style get-together--there'll be [non-alcoholic] beverages and snacks a-plenty. Everyone who attends will get a free 3-month membership to Sweet On Geeks, "a dating space where Gray Matters," as well as tons of other swag, including some free subscriptions (while supplies last, of course) to Geek Monthly, t-shirts, and more.

Not only that, but apparently Sweet On Geeks is very much in the public eye lately: it sounds like the event may be covered by local print and radio media. AND if anyone who is currently a Sweet On Geeks member, or becomes one between now and then, would like to be interviewed on camera, it sounds like the TV news will be on hand as well! All at our little ole store? Well, shucks!

So: if you're a real brainiac, or just someone who identifies with the more esoteric or technological side of pop culture (read: comics?), AND you're looking to meet people of a similar stripe, bring it on. The event is totally FREE, there's no signup or pressure, and you may feel free to spend as much money as you like while you're in our store! See you on Friday, February 22!

Yeah, it's at the P-stone Snaps(Cause we know some stud that works there that'll give us a Corona hook up...nod, nod, wink, wink...)
Thanx guys! Did ya'll do this for me...ya know, 'cause I'm so lonely? Sniff. Maybe we could have a staff auction at some point. I'll go to the highest bidder!!! What better place for the ladies to find a real Hero, than Heroes Aren't Hard To Find!!!

Sigh, if only Jamie Pressley shoped here....

Maybe we could not have a staff auction.

You'll go to the highest bidder? Oh Rusty, Rusty, Rusty...

Face it Tiger, you've just hit the jackpot gets an entirely new layer of meaning.

Why such a spoilsport Shawn? This is a perfect opprotunity for Jason to begin his new career as a gigolo!

I am tempted to drop off a lady-friend at the store. My wife Gigi & I will have to give her a crash course in Scott Pilgrim or Y the Last Man beforehand.

I'm not a spoil sport. I will participate in a male staff members auction, but I don't want to be up for auction.

Rusty said...

Yeah, Shawn, maybe you're right....an auction might not be the best idea! If people spend all their moneys on me, they won't have anything left to buy comics with, 'cause I'm not cheap, but I sho is easy....

Woohoo...does this mean I have a social life now?

You guys have fun, though. Geek love is the best!

hah! I'm in. sweet on geeks is getting a lotta press lately, they were on the radio last week before the singles thing was announced. awesome, ill be there.
what's the over under on this being a male dominated event(doesnt that sound so much more refined than sausage fest?)?

Dustin Harbin said...

Mark, I feel like it should be pretty even. We have a ton of female customers, and with all the coverage this will likely get, I wonder if the balance might actually tip toward the ladies?

Awww...Geek Singles Night is an excellent idea. Although, I think Shawn has her share of admirers. (I hope I spelled that correctly!)

I needed this event two years ago, when I was a lonely newcomer to Charlotte.

Of course, I now have a beautiful fiancee so I can't really complain.

i, for one, hope there will be some wimmens up in this b!atch! this geek does not swing the other way.

if no females show up - i imagine it will be a very uncomfortable evening for the heroes aren't hard to find resident hottie. (shelly will be back for this event, right?) just kidding shawn, you know you are the h.a.h.t.f.r.h.

love,
snaps

I applaud that you have this the week after Valentines day instead of the same week. That "holiday" puts tooo much pressure on singles of both genders. Always thought it did more harm than good. This on the other hand, sounds like a delight!!

Shawn Reynolds said...

Thank you for that "Snaps". I will more than likely make an appearance.

...I'm going to be the only girl there, aren't I?
